[PLUG] Odd emotcon rendering in Thunderbird

I see a smilie that thunderbird substitutes in. I don't see any ':' + 
')' becoming a large 'J'.

Perhaps it might be related to the version of Thunderbird you are using. 
I am using version 1.5.
