Where are you getting the updates from?  It is quite possible that one
of the original mirrors has decided to no longer keep the FC3 updates
since FC3 is obsolete.  The official updates are still available from
the master site at
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/3/.

Also, Fedora Legacy project, http://www.fedoralegacy.org/, has taken
over maintenance of FC3.  They attempt to release security and bug
fixes for FC3.  Their updates are available from
http://download.fedoralegacy.org/fedora/3/updates/.
