I considered fiber, but then I decided that Cat6 would hold me for at
least five years, probably ten. That is, barring the invention of some
incredible new technology that requires greater bandwidth.

So what will become of my Cat6 inside the walls in ten years? Well, I
am thinking that by then wireless will have advanced greater than Cat6
can currently provide. And hopefully the security issues with wireless
will be adequately addressed as well. This is all gross speculation,
but I think when the time comes that my Cat6 will no longer provide
what I need, I'll move to whatever wireless technology is available
then. And if that is inadequate, then it's time for surface wiring. Or
I'll just tear the sheetrock off the walls, do it over, and put up new
sheetrock. In fact, all the holes I made in the studs are very large,
so I could probably just use the Cat6 to pull new fiber in. Or
whatever. Or I'll be dead. In fact, just finishing this wiring project
may kill me.
