I know this has been discussed and the solution shared on the Ubuntu
amd-64 forum. You should be scanning that forum anyway -- I have found
it to be a gold mine for help getting those little 64-bit hassles under
control. Just search on that forum for "nvidia" and you should pop up a
thread. I'd give you an URL, but I never bookmarked it, and I have a
final tomorrow. :(

Re: Adept, I think I just installed nvidia-glx with Synaptic, although
I think I had to do one or two command line things afterwards. The
enable command sounds familiar.

I am currently using just the open source nv driver, but in the past I
have used the NVidia proprietary driver and it worked just fine.
