It was a great start of what I'm sure will become a huge benefit to
Free Geek and the Linux community. I was pleased to discover
that Linux-idiot-moi was actually able to do something positive to
help repay the debt I owe the Clinic for all the help it has been to
me in the past.
Some things not already mentioned that we need for our "PLUG
box" at Free Geek:
A long-ass telephone cable so we can get a phone connection to
the meeting room area. Or is there some kind of attachment so cell
phones can be used for that?
Some of those cool Ubuntu Live and Install CD packs. Can we
order some from Ubuntu? And ditto for other popular distros.
Signs: I will take care of this. I have major DTP equipment,
includng tabloid printers. I also have lots of scrap plywood left over
from work on my house. It will cost me nothing.
And speaking of signs, how about some notices on the wall in the
classroom at Free Geek so n00bs besides those on this list will
hear of the Clinic? Also add to the PLUG web site. And can it be
added to the Free Geek site as well? And can anyone think of
other free ways to get the word out?
I think the "new" Clinic is going to be even better than the old one.
Someone should communicate the success of our first Clinic to the
Council. Communication is always key.
And special thanks to everyone who particpated, especially the
n00bs who took a chance and showed up. You are, after all, the
reason for the Clinic. I hope the experience was as positive for you
as past Clinics have been for me.
