It is builtin. The command is other-window. It switches to the other
window (half) when the screen is split.
There is also next-buffer (C-x <right> and C-x C-<right>) and
prev-buffer (C-x <left> and C-x C-<left>) which switch to the next and
next buffers in the current window.
I don't know about those last two since I use a mode called iswitchb.
With C-x b, it lists the buffers in the minibuffer and allows
selecting them by typing incremental search or paging through the list
with C-s and C-r.
