You're thinking of patents, which last 20 years.  Copyright, thanks to 
the Sonny Bono CETA passed by Congress, last life + 75 years or a flat 
95 years for corporate-created works.  Any copyrights created by Tandy 
14 years ago will be in force until 2087.  And that's only if Congress 
doesn't extend copyright terms again, which our Congresscritters have 
been all too willing to do.  They get handsomely rewarded by the 
entertainment and software lobbies for their cooperation.
