I was looking at the 9500SX but haven't done any pricing yet. I'm sure
my eyes will get real wide but this looked to have the best long term
potential.
The software we'll be running on it is limited by I/O and sort-of RAM.
The sample data we sent the vendor ran quite nicely on a run-of-the-mill
Power book G4 with external/attached drive and 768 MByte RAM. To get
the processing speed we need I'm looking at a dual ( or quad ) processor
with 2-4 GByte RAM. From what I'm seeing on the 3ware site the SATA
RAID would be ideal. There is an amount of data issue also so the
bigger RAID with SATA drives starts to make a bit more sense.
Thanks,
Rod
