At Linuxfest Saturday, I was talking with a fellow from
http://www.groundworkopensource.com , who was giving away free
copies of GroundWork, a monitoring application.  I mentioned the
old saw about "give away the razors, sell the razor blades", and he
countered with the new open source equivalent:

"Give away the razors, give away the razor blades, sell bandages to
the folks that cut themselves."
