The error I was referring to was clipped out of my message by a 
previous poster, hence the confusing message.  I was unable
to access account history to find out if a check cleared.  They
"fixed" the problem of no access for non-IE browsers by turning
off the feature for IE as well, some time in the last 24 hours. 
"Interesting" approach.
