No, the person who bought the cheap switch (about 14 months ago) is no
longer employed there, and part of the reason is that she ignored my
suggestions and bought cheap stuff.

They have a new switch there already. The problem is that between
playing 'telephone' both literally and figuratively, response clarity
(or lack thereof), and some personality issues I alluded to earlier, it
took about 20 hours between the onset of the problem and the fix. If
they had someone local to call, it would have taken travel time plus
about an hour. I can't always drop everything and take a day out of the
office to travel.

So, no one has a competent friend to refer?
