[PLUG] SuSE 10 on Acer Laptop

I have an Acer Aspire 1640Z laptop (1.7 GHz Pentium M, 1GB RAM, 80GB 
Hard Drive, DVD Burner). Naturally, it came with XP installed. 
Eventually, I'd like to end up with SuSE 10 and VMWare running XP. (For 
the foreseeable future I need to be able to run IE for work.)

I have a 10GB laptop drive I can swap for the 80 and plan to experiment 
with that. I am currently downloading the SuSE 10 DVD (only 16 hours to 
go!). Any known gotchas regarding burning the DVD image using WinXP tools?

Does anyone have any experience with this laptop and SuSE 10, or some 
other flavor of Linux?
