[PLUG] Digital camera -- wrong choice?

I can almost open and take a picture with my 1930's era folding camera
faster than 1.6 seconds.  I want my 2006 digital camera to come on
INSTANTLY and to take a picture the MOMENT I press the shutter button.
I've not yet seen a digital point and shoot that can do that.
