If you don't have a domain, why would you want to configure
squirrelmail? Its purpose is to allow you to read/send email when you're
away from your server but have access to the web. Do you have a fixed IP
you would use to do that?

As far as IMAP goes, you need to have that configured correctly before
it's useful to squirrelmail. See if this helps...
