[PLUG] Informal security chat

Would anyone be interested in an informal round-table security discussion?

I have all these best practices and principles, but would like to
discuss what other people are using, and how conditions and process can
be improved. I could gather a summary of our discussions and turn it
into a presentation for the monthly meeting.

Topics I'm interested in (both listening to and giving my experiences on):

 * Local storage encryption: performance and management
 * Key and passphrase management: multi-employee consulting
environments, change control
 * Passphrase generation
 * Tinfoil-hat vs. practical use of security practices
 * Log/IDS analysis: useful, and time effective methods of parsing large
amounts of data
 * Tying it all together: system, network, application security..
finding the weak points
 * vi vs. emacs (j/k)

I could host this at my place in Tigard. Probably host it on a Friday
evening this month or early Nov. If at least 5 others are interested
I'll make preparations. Keep replies on list if possible. Interest may
 spark interest. :)
