[PLUG] Echo problem with Skype

Hey all,

I have two workstations with basically identical
installs of Debian Sarge and Fluxbox, and I've
just installed Skype on both of them.

One is here at the office, the other at home. When
I use the headset for Skype here in the office,
all is well.

When I take the same headset home and use it
there, the person on the other end of a Skype
connection here's a reverb of their own voice
going on so loudly it makes it unusable.

Any ideas what might be causing that? I know squat
about sound card configuration, etc.

I did some Googling and found a post that says it
is due to the mic picking up the person's voice,
but it does not do it on the machine here at the
office, even when I use the speakers to hear the
callers voice.

It only does it on the machine at home and even
with the same headset. Any advice would be greatly
appreciated.
