The wpa_supplicant daemon doesn't just support just the Host AP wireless 
driver. I guess the mailing list name is a bit confusing though. I use the 
wpa_supplicant daemon to get WPA-PSK to work on my laptop which uses the 
Intel ipw2200 driver.
