Are you sure these guys are not spammers?

I have used majordomo with lists of about 20,000+. I have never seen a 
legitimate list that big.

The problem is not the listserv software, the problem is having the 
bandwidth and running out of system resources.  (I hacked a custom kernel 
back when I ran perl5porters to handle high volume, but that was back in 
the days when you needed to. The system used to run out of filehandles 
back in the 1.2.x kernels.)
