The best way to copy from one usb device to another is to get a usb 
device crossover cable with an inductive serial tap.  Attach one of the 
devices to reversed-polarity AC current to initiate the peer-to-peer 
mode.  Then attach the receiving end of the IST to your serial port and 
connect to it with your favorite terminal emulator.  Follow the 
on-screen instructions.

Of course, you might not be able to get all of the needed hardware until 
April 2nd.  By then the technology will have moved on and this 
procedure won't work anymore.  Should you find yourself in such a 
situation, there's always 'man dd', though you'll only get half of the 
transfer rate that way.
