Life Span: Depending on the reliability of your electrical system,
and how loaded the battery is, 6 months to 36 months.

6 months: if you have frequent local black/brown-outs and surges (got
AC? electrical heating on a thermostat? computers on the same circuit
as a blow-dryer, clothes dryer, and home electric chair?), with the
battery draining max power during events.

36 months: You live next to a power station, run nothing but
computers in your house/computing center, and *every* computer you
own has it's own 1500W UPS dedicated to the CPU (with optional UPS's
for things like monitors, swtitches, etc.), and you never seem to
suffer a major power outage.

So, YMMV. ;)

(mine sure does)
