I ran across this on the GNewSense list- the ASUS WL 107g has 100% free
drivers, there is no binary kernel blob like Atheros uses. The binary blob
has to do with FCC regulations about not allowing users to dink with the
broadcast frequencies. (This is the actual rule
http://ftp.fcc.gov/Bureaus/Engineering_Technology/Orders/2001/fcc01264.pdf) I
don't know why ASUS can do without the binary firmware blob, but there it is.

Even cooler, the card is cheap, $24.99 on Newegg. It has a Ralink chipset.
