I've set up my DSL modem to get its power through a X10 controlled outlet.
A cron job checks world connectivity and reboots it as needed.
That's only because the Speakeasy supplied modem won't reconnect after the DSL
drops signal. It runs for weeks at a time without needing the kick.
DSL is great value for those who can withstand infrequent, short term outages.
