I imagine there are several helper scripts for this task. Due to Qmail's
license requiring distribution *as source*, Debian ships a package
builder that puts a configuration helper into the resultant package.
Wasn't difficult to deal with with that kind of help. Not trivial though,
and I won't claim to have everything perfectly setup at this point.

I wrote off Exim around 2001 or so. At the time Debian was using v3, and
I they were having to put out many more security alerts for Exim than
Sendmail! Perhaps Sendmail was worse in 1995, but Exim didn't have any
excuses post-2000. Perhaps Exim v4 is better, then again, Sendmail has
also had time to improve security.
I guess I've got to place Qmail as best if you can manage to configure
it. Postfix and Sendmail as pretty well even, and Exim in last place.
