   Er, ... wired. Here's with the wireless card installed:

root at pachy:~# /etc/init.d/networking restart
  * Reconfiguring network interfaces... SIOCDELRT: No such process
                                                                          [ OK ]
root at pachy:~# ifconfig -a
eth1      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:60:1D:F7:76:9D
           inet addr:192.168.55.5  Bcast:192.168.55.255  Mask:255.255.255.0

lo        Link encap:Local Loopback
           inet addr:127.0.0.1  Mask:255.0.0.0
           inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host
           UP LOOPBACK RUNNING  MTU:16436  Metric:1

           RX bytes:460612 (449.8 KiB)  TX bytes:460612 (449.8 KiB)

   eth1 is not running.

   Or, the MAC? This is why I've been going in circles. All indications are
that the wireless networking should be good, but it's not.

   And how to I do this if I cannot ping or access any host on the LAN? As
you see above, I can't get there. Sigh.

Thanks,

Rich
