[PLUG] USB-to-Serial Converter?

Does anyone know if there is made a converter that allows a USB device to
plug into a serial port, rather than the other way?

The serial connection between my Kyocera PDA and the desktop works
flawlessly; the USB connection between my Treo PDA and the desktop doesn't
work. Actually, using pilot-xfer, I just did get one connection, but it used
ancient, backed-up data and totally messed up my address book in both
locations. I'm restoring to the desktop from the backup tapes now.

Anyway, if such a cable is available then I can plug the Treo's USB cable
into the serial port that I know works with the Kyocera, digital camera, and
other peripherals.
