The speed shouldn't be a problem for me. I currently have a Brother
HL-730DX. I haven't had the time to figure out why I can't get my Linux
machine to see the parallel port, so I've only used it with 98SE and XP.
On a new drum, it works well. Eventually - after a year or more - the
drum wears out. Unfortunately, that drum is no longer available from the
usual sources, and so there are extra marks on the page due to the
scratches on the drum.

Since I am now in need of a fax machine, and I don't do production
amounts of printing, I figured a multi-function fax/printer would be a
good solution.

As business picks up, I may decide I need a better printer. At that
time, the 7820N will still be a good fax machine. And for now, this
looks like a reasonable approach.
