Isn't it fun how in the 21st century nobody knows how to edit emails, or 
follow posting order? sigh... at any rate, is that the 'real' OSS on 
Slackware, or ALSA's OSS emulator? OSS still shows up in a lot of places, but 
it's really ALSA. For example, Asterisk wants OSS for sound on the server 
console, so it's configured for /dev/oss, but it's ALSA's OSS emulation.
