Pretty much all boards do, it's not just ABIT.  There may be one or two 
out there, but you have to do offline BIOS updates somehow.  You could 
probably make a DOS bootable CD with the BIOS update on it and do it 
from there too.  You won't be able to backup the old BIOS, though most 
don't anyway.
