   Well, now I know the answer. In /opt/src/linux-2.6.19.2/.config I see:

# CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDE_SATA is not set

   So, I'll see if the default kernel in Slackware-12.0 has support. If not,
I'll build a custom kernel after the upgrade.
