Umm, well, considering what you say, I've decided to forget about it.
At home I have four perfectly functioning ports in the mini-dock, so I
only have the problem when away. Even then, the ports in the back right
corner work as long as I never remove anything from them. And add the
fact that I have since discovered that this problem is a bug in the
current Gutsy kernel, which has been reported and solidly confirmed in
Ubuntu launchpad and the kernel bug tracker. (Lots of T61 users bitten
by it.) I'll probably have to wait for the next release of Ubuntu for a
fix, but from what you say it's probably more trouble than its worth.
Thanks for the info. This educational experience will have to wait. :)
