Look forward to seeing you.  Note that many wifi installations start up
with an authentication web splash page - you must enter some information
through a web browser (sometimes a user name, sometimes just an "I agree
to the terms of service" click) before they will let you connect elsewhere.
That is true at the airport, with Metrofi, and with PTP and NoCat sites
(like Free Geek).  I imagine that might be a problem if your laptop is
configured to do its own DNS service, and can't make the first connection
to the TLD servers.
