True. I'm used to using dhcpcd, and that's not on the Xubuntu
installation. As I noted in my response to Bill's message, I discovered
dhclient on the box, and that may work the same way.
Our need is to be able to use the wireless connection here in the house,
with a static IP address, just as we have before. But, if we can get
wireless networking functioning using dhclient, accepting TLD splash page
terms, and whatever from a remote location, the probability of it working
here is very much greater.
