[PLUG] Modem setup for Chuck Metzger

A while back (several months at least) somebody at the Clinic set up a modem
dialer for
Chuck Metzger. The problem was that gnome-ppp wasn't dealing with the modem
properly.
Maybe it was a driver problem, I don't know. The workaround was to use
wvdial directly.
Whoever helped him set up a 'green telephone' icon on the upper tool bar
that did that directly.
I suspicion that it was Aaron who helped.
Now the ISP ( Chuck said 'phone company') has changed the dial-in number,
and Chuck would
like to modify the 'wvdial' config to use the correct number. I gather this
is not an isolated
phenomenon since my ISP (hevanet) has a note on their web page advising a
dial-in change, and I've seen references to it in other forums. So the
question is, does anyone
remember helping Chuck set this up? Using a script? Modifying
/etc/wvdial.conf? All control
in the icon properties? I had Chuck 'ls' his directory, and he didn't see
any
'.wvdialrc' file. He's not a CLI guy, so talking him through a manual
modification of
'/etc/wvdial.conf' would be awkward. If worst come to worst, he will bring
his hardware
to the next clinic (three weeks?).
