I think you are refering to my problems with KDE and KNetMgr.  I have no 
troubles with the wireless in my laptop using Gnome.  The Gnome network 
manager works flawlessly.
On the other hand. I have not enjoyed the same success with KDE.  My 
machine has both environments installed and I was hoping to be able to 
switch back and forth (go ahead and flame me guys...bloatware).  I have 
since discovered that I can install the KDE apps that I wanted and they 
install the dependencies and work just fine under Gnome.  My display is 
doing the Toshiba slow death with the band down the middle of the 
screen, so I am not using it much, and am waiting for finances to 
replace it.
