Carlos,
The module 'nv' was loaded, but X would not start; the message was that
there was no device found. Running 'lsmod' showed it loaded right at the top
of the list. Ergo, the answer to your question is "for some other weird
reason" that I do not know.
There was a thread on this a couple of weeks ago when the power supply on
this host died and I rebuilt the unit with new power supply, motherboard,
CPU, and RAM. The ASUS board has built-in video of the nVidia flavor.
