[PLUG] USB/Bluetooth dongle and a Headset

I spent far too much time (enjoyable time that is) trying to get my cell 
phone headset to work with my workstation and ZoIPer soft phone.

Didn't make it as far ZoIPer because I didn't really get the bluetooth 
headset and ALSA to work as I understood it should.  I did the hcitool 
inq, scan, cc; and all worked fine but an ALSA device never showed up 
anywhere on my system.  I connected to my cell phone and N800 just fine.

Has anyone tried or succeeded at getting a bluetooth headset to work 
with a soft phone?

In my case I'm working with CentOS 5.
