OK, but infinite passes?  If your inifinitely paranoid, melt it down to slag.

On a slightly different flavor, why all the DoD stuff?  Sure, it's
great for discussion, but I didn't get the need for a DoD-level wipe
from the original post:

If it was me, I would boot SuSE's install and use its partitioning
tool to remove the old partitions then continue with the install.
Technically, that's only repartitioning the drive and not wiping it.
But if that's all that's needed, why go through the extra fuss?
