I've had cable Internet service since TCI introduced it in the Oregon
City area -- 1995? -- and have had the router almost as long. One of the
things this experience has uncovered is that the router only supports
10M/half duplex on the WAN side. It may be that the cable modem I
started with only ran at 10M/half duplex, but I know that the new one
that was installed a couple of weeks ago supports 100M/Full duplex.
Today's question: Would I really notice the difference if I got a new
router that supports 100M/Full duplex on the WAN side as well as the LAN
side?
And, which routers do you folks prefer? I'll consider adding wireless
capability, too.
