[PLUG] openldap and passwordModify (exop)

Can someone confirm that openldap's passwordModify(exop) only updates 
the userPassword attribute?  I saw some discussion on the net that 
suggested that perhaps the NT and LM hashes might also get updated.  I 
suppose that if running passwd(1) with pam_password set to exop 
actually updated the NT and LM hashes, there would be no need for 
things like smbldap-passwd.
