That generation of machine had a SCSI cdrom, so just do
probe-scsi-all
to see if it shows up. Make a note of where it is if it does show up,
and check the definition of cdrom in the eeprom settings. If I remember
correctly, the eeprom command is 'showenv'.
You can also boot to the exact device using the whole device path.
