I've been too lazy, up until now. "validlocale" showed that
en_US.UTF-8 was indeed valid on my system. Turns out that rxvt doesn't
support two-byte character sets, so I upgraded to rxvt-unicode-lite.
No more wacky unrecognized characters in my manpages!
