[PLUG] Linux, PHP and Barcode Scanning

Greetings,

I am trying to write a small app that will update a database remotely using a barcode scanner and some keyboard input. I am building a client-server app that will be on Linux both as the client and want it to run via a web interface.

Anyone know of a good site with info on how to accomplish this? It doesn't seem like it would be all that hard to do.
