For all the good folks that volunteered to help - thanks! My m.i.l.
is doing OK for now, and I will be at the A.T. meeting.

I have a a minor request - I would like to teach a few people there
how to operate the projector, focus and frame it, and safely shut
it down, in case I have to make similar arrangements in the future.

The main thing to remember is that the bulb inside gets EXTREMELY
HOT, and the projector needs to keep running the fan and cooling the
bulb after the light shuts off, or else the insides get toasted.
