I don't know any GUI hacks =) I spend more time in a shell than I do in GUI
land so I guess I'm different from others on the list. I learned on
Slackware which at the time and to a point still requires more use of a
shell than say Ubuntu or Potato Soup or whatever Debian is called these days
;-) I write plenty of little maintenance scripts here and there for things
dumping mysql databases and simple tar backups and the like.
