At last nights Plug meeting which I attended virtually (thanks Randall!) John asked about TV cards for Linux. The pchdtv card is specifically designed for linux users which is still a rare thing to be encouraged and it seems to be a pretty nice card http://pchdtv.com/ I don't have one, but if I were buying one right now that looks like a good option.
