I would be very curious to see how those apps stack up on the D800 vs. a
newer model with dual core. I have had this laptop blow away "newer" and
"more powerful" models several times. I understand that 2 > 1 (referring to
the number of cores), but I've seen it happen.

This model uses the Pentium-M (M for Mobile, I assume) architecture, which
at 1.6Ghz outclassed a P4 3.2Ghz in every benchmark I could think of. Also,
this thing does not seem to care about heat. I can leave it flat on a bed or
couch, sealing off the bottom fan vent, for hours at a time and it does not
blink. At least, not yet. I understand that heat damage is cumulative.

I realize that I most likely will not have the opportunity to see the above
comparison, but it's at least fun to think about.
