Any of you running Ubuntu 9.04 willing to try this? After running the
command below, an error window appears ("There was an error creating
the child process for this terminal"). X seems unresponsive, and, as
determined by my son SSH-ing into it, if left in this state X ends up
using all the CPU. Mouse pointer moves, but clicks have no effect,
and ^alt backspace does not work. (This problem repeated when
entering various versions of the simple command shown here, with
similar if not identical results.)

gnome-terminal -e alsdjfla (or any non-command)

JJJ, are you willing? It will not hurt. i would like to find out if
this is specific to my hardware, or a more general problem with 9.04.
