[PLUG] Strange behavior with Wifi USB adapter

Hi :

I have a Linksys Wireless-G USB adapter (Model WUSB54GC) which I use to
connect to a wifi router at work for
connectivity. It is DHCP and works fine most of the time. Every now then,
after a long usage especially, it will disconnect
from the router itself. In fact, it seems that the USB adapter is not
functional anymore even though the green light on it is still lit.
If I unplug and plug it back it, green light is lit, wlan0 shows as "UP" in
ifconfig but I do not receive any address.

I look at /var/log/message (included below), it would just say wlan0: link
is not ready. The network-monitor GUI says wlan0 is invalid. If I wait a
day or two, the USB adapter will start working again.

Can anyone offer clues to explain this very odd behavior? I borrowed
another adapter from my sister (same model) and
the same thing would happen over time. I uses 2 different boxes (kernel
2.6.27 and 2.6.28) and the same thing happened on both boxes.
