(1) Can you attach the laptop in question to the LAN via an Eithernet 
cable (disabling wireless)?
(1.a) If so, can you ping it then?
(2) Are there any other host attached to the LAN via the wireless point 
in question?
(2.a) If so, can you ping any of them?
