[PLUG] Anyone familiar with minicom?

I can run minicom as root on openSuSE 11.2, but when I attempt to run it
as a user I get the message "Cannot create lockfile. Sorry.". I have
checked to make sure that I have permissions in that group, dialout, for
that device and I can operate it without minicom. Is there a permission
problem with the lock file? I can run the same version of minicom in
Fedora as a user with no problems.
